White Township is the largest municipality located within Indiana County covering 42 square miles. White Township is an ideal place to call home or locate a business. With access to major highways and ease to get around, this family-oriented community consists of 15,000 residents.
White Township features a state-of-the-art community hospital, Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana University of Pennsylvania including the Kovalchick Convention and Conference Complex, numerous hotels, retail shops and restaurants. While there are many chain restaurants, our family restaurants have stood the test of time and have become favorites by visitors.
In addition to the University, the Township is served by the Indiana Area School District with four elementary schools, one middle school and one high school. We are proud to have the Indiana County Technology Center within our borders with an adjacent STEM center under construction.
The township’s Recreation Department is housed at the White Township Recreation Complex located at 495 East Pike Road. We proudly own and operate 91 acres at that location which includes 4 full size baseball fields, 3 soccer fields, 2 basketball courts, five tennis courts, disc golf, hiking and biking trails and picnic pavilions. Our recently renovated Ice Hockey Rink hosts the University and High School Hockey Teams as well as amateur leagues. Numerous tournaments are held at this Sports Complex each year. White Township recreation also includes two parks with pavilions, playgrounds, a dog park and pickle ball courts. White’s Woods is a 229-acre forest with over four miles of trails for hiking, cross-country skiing and nature study.
White township offers a high quality of life to its residents with a wide selection of housing for all ages. Crime rates are low and while we may be considered rural, our amenities are plentiful.
