Help Pennsylvania-American get rid of lead pipes

Pennsylvania-American Water Company is calling for White Township residents to help the company complete its inventory of materials used in the water service lines at each home, business or other structure in the area.

The service line is the pipe that carries water from the main line in the street to the structure. Most are made of copper, plastic, galvanized steel or lead. The water company has records that show the materials used in most service lines but some (usually older ones) are unknown.

PAWC recently mailed cards to homes with unknown types of service lines asking residents to identify and report the material used for their lines.

The information will help Pennsylvania-American continue its $15 million project to replace its customers’ lead water service lines. Click here to view or download the water company’s
