S&T Bank Arena welcomed throngs of hockey fans and families over the weekend for the final rounds of the 28the annual Charlie Hogan Memorial Hockey Tournament, one of the biggest hockey events of the year in Indiana County.
In the thrilling final games Sunday, the Indiana Chiefs defeated the Westmoreland Eagles in a shootout in the consolation round, and the Louisville Cardinals edged the Altoona Trackers in a shootout for the championship in the 12U Division.
The local ICHA Chiefs’ 8U White team won its division title one week earlier.
The invitational tournament annually attracts the finest youth hockey talent. Hilton Garden Inn and Levity Brewing Company were the official lodging, food and beverage sponsors of the Hogan Tournament.
Next on the schedule for S&T Bank Arena: the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Crimson Hawks host playoffs for the College Hockey Mid-America (CHMA) league, a part of Division 1 of the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA).
