Emergency Services

Essential information related to emergency services, preparedness, and public safety within White Township.

Citizens' Ambulance Service

Established in 1964, Citizens’ Ambulance Service (CAS) has provided emergency medical services (EMS) and non-emergency ambulance and van transportation to residents of White Township, Indiana Borough, and surrounding municipalities and counties. With an excellent reputation for patient care and decades of experience, White Township entered into an agreement with CAS to provide all EMS services within the township.

At a time when ambulance services nationwide are struggling with inadequate reimbursements and rising costs, White Township recognized the need to financially support CAS and formally acknowledge them as an essential service, similar to the fire department. CAS is a nonprofit organization, with two of its stations located in White Township.

To help cover the cost of readiness, a $75 per household fee will be assessed.

The Township has contracted with CAS for 2026 and will cover the cost.
